  • SMEAA Board Appoints Jodi Davis as General Manager of the BOS Center

(Springfield, IL) The Springfield Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority (or SMEAA), the board that governs the Bank of Springfield Center, appointed long term employee and current Assistant General Manger, Jodi Davis, to fill the role of General Manager at their meeting on Tuesday. Davis is replacing Brian Oaks who announced his resignation from the position in October as effective at the end of December. “I am happy that the SMEAA board has chosen Jodi as my successor,” said Oaks upon hearing the news, “Jodi has forgotten more about this building than most people could ever hope to know. I know that I would not have been as successful in my time at the building without her by my side. She is a fantastic asset to the BOS Center and I know she will serve the community well.” Davis has been with the BOS Center for over 28 years, starting as a ticket seller in the Box Office when she was a teenager. She has also served as Event Coordinator, Comptroller, Director of Event Staff and Services, and Interim Concessions Manager, in addition to Assistant General Manager and now General Manager. She has an acute knowledge of the building’s operations from every level as well as long-standing relationships with BOS Center’s community partners and clients. “I am so honored and grateful that the SMEAA Board has chosen me as the next General Manager,” said Davis, “This building has become a second home to me over the years. I have quite literally grown up here. I even got engaged in the main hall; my husband surprised me, disguised as Santa, at a Friend-in-Deed drive-thru before he got down on one knee. I have a deeply vested interest in securing the future of the BOS Center. I promise to act in the best interests of our community and look forward to serving in this extended capacity.” ### #BOSCenter #SMEAA #GeneralManager
